The Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo is an Android powered smartphone, at the time of release, it’s come with Android 4.4.4 KitKat. It’s not the latest version of this mobile OS, but also not too obsolete, since most of the apps offered in the Google Play Store have been able to run on KitKat. The Android OS and other software that controls how an Android device works called the firmware (also, often called as ROM), it’s located in the system partition and it’s not easily altered, unless you have root access.
The stock Droid Turbo firmware (ROM) would mean authentic firmware made by Motorola which is only compatible with the Verizon Droid Turbo with the XT1254 model number, so you are unable to use it on other smartphone model such as Moto Maxx, which is the international version of the Turbo. In most cases, the Droid Turbo stock ROM is necessary to restore the phone to stock software condition, it will remove any apps and customization of the target device.
Some people even take advantage of this firmware to unroot (after it got root access) recover a soft bricked phone, so when your device won’t turn on or it stuck in bootscreen, you can utilize this stock firmware. OK, here are the stock firmware/ROM for Verizon Droid Turbo packed into zip format, you can use RSDLite or other tools to flash the firmware.
To avoid problems that might take place, ensure that you choose your current firmware version. If the current firmware is not available for download, then choose the latest official version of the firmware.

Restore Verizon Droid Turbo to stock firmware with RSDLite
As we mentioned earlier, in order to flash the stock firmware/ROM we need a utility like RSDLite or some other tools like the House of Moto and RSD Flasher. If you have not been familiar with this tool before, we provide a brief guide below (RSDLite and Windows computers):
Update: The firmware with system version 21.21.15 (Build number: KDF21.128-15) has bundled with a firmware installer “VRZ_XT1254_KDF21.128-15_15_CFC.bat”. With this you don’t need a RSDLite or any other tools, just extract the zip then run the bat file.
- Download the latest version of RSDLite installer then install it.
- Put the Verizon Droid Turbo (XT1254) into fastboot mode.
- Run RSDLite and connect the phone to the computer via OEM USB cable, the computer should recognize your device, otherwise re-install the USB drivers.
- Click on (…) button and locate the stock firmware in zip format.
- Begin the flash procedure by hitting the Start button. Flashing process might take quite a long time, so please be patient.
