Finally, we can root LG Transpyre from Verizon, this is good news, since the release of this smartphone in November last year, many are hoping this device to be rooted. The Transpyre isn’t a popular devices as this only prepaid phone available on Verizon Wireless, so Android development for this phone is not even active. And root access seems sufficient to give freedom to its user to take the most out of this phone.
Although LG Transpyre is a prepaid device, but it has good specs. For only $99 you can get a smartphone with a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon CPU, 1GB RAM running Android 4.4.2 KitKat. That’s enough for those who want to use it as a tool to assist daily job even for serious gaming.
With superuser access we could do several things, such as backup app + data with Titanium Backup, overclocking and even stock LG UI makeover with the help of Xposed Framework and its modules, maybe to make it more similar to Android 5.0 Lollipop by changing the navigation bar and status bar, as this Android version might never come to this smartphone in the near future.
To get root on LG Transpyre by Verizon, here are some of the requirements you must satisfy:
- 2015 Root Toolkit package.
- A Computer with Windows OS, since it tested on Windows, but should also work on Linux or Mac OS X with a different approach.
- LG VZW United WHQL drivers, Verizon devices require different drivers.
- Micro USB cable
The procedures for root are no different with the guide we had written earlier. You have to do a few easy steps, it’s about 10 steps, the majority of the steps are done on the computer via adb command.
