Some Verizon LG V10 (VS990) users have been experiencing a well-known issue related to fingerprint feature. The fingerprint reader on this device feels less responsive when used, this problem occurs even without a phone case, which means there are no objects that blocking the reader to recognize our finger. Most likely it is a software related issue, since this does not occur with some other variants.
After that, on January 7th, Verizon approved a new software update for this device with software version VS99011B. However, according its changelogs from official Verizon website, the new update only brings several minor bug fixes and improvements.
There are no words about improvements to the fingerprint issue as expected by most users. Some improvements and bug fixes are:
- QRemote, no more crash when reached from the Notification.
- Navigation icons properly shown in Dual Window mode.
- Contacts app shows the most recent contacts opened from the Second Screen.
- Second Screen, fix status bar overlaps.
Although Verizon did not mention the fingerprint fix on its official software update page, but some users have experienced a significant improvement on the fingerprint feature. One of them said that the fingerprint now works a lot better. Not just that, even some mention if the current fingerprint work flawlessly with the phone case on.
