Kingo Android root became famous last year since it’s the only app that can provide root privileges to some variants of the Galaxy Note 3, including the US carrier-branded variants. Not only for Samsung, but this app could also work for some other devices such as HTC, Sony, Motorola, LG and Asus.
This Windows-based root app has been criticized for sending device’s details to the server in China, but the Kingo dev confirm that they only collect IMEI, model number or kernel version to the server, which is useful for the future development of Kingo.
With this new year and Kingo app looks much better, more supported devices and faster rooting procedure, as a result of valuable feedback from its users and of course the hard work of Kingo developers.
Earlier this year, Kingo app version 1.3.0 has been released with a new root exploits, which mean more devices supported. Following are some of the changes brought by v1.3.0:
- Boosted rooting speed.
- New exploits added.
- Bug fixes: false root and removing root success for several devices.
- Added Recovery for Galaxy Note 4 (SM-N9100, SM-N910S) and Galaxy Note Edge (SM-N9150).
Supported Android phones or tablets mostly an international variants, so if you have a carrier-branded devices such as the US Verizon Wireless and AT&T Mobility, most likely your device will not work with it, since it commonly comes with additional security and locked bootloader.
