After waiting in a long time, Verizon finally approved the Lollipop update for Galaxy Note Edge, this is good news for its users as they wait long enough to be able to get this update. Unfortunately, it’s still bring initial Lollipop release – Android 5.0.1, not the anticipated Android 5.1 which brings a lot of bug fixes and performance improvements over the initial Lollipop.
Although the Android 5.0.1 is not the most recent version of Lollipop, but for us it’s still worth to try because it brings significant UI redesign and animation powered by Google Material Design. The new UI is one of the charms of Lollipop although many Note Edge users said that KitKat has a better performance when compared with the new one. All back to you, do you prefer a beautiful user interface or better performance.
There’s also not so good news for the geek users, as root on Lollipop for Verizon Galaxy Note Edge (SM-N915V) seems to be more challenging, as reported by its users who have updated to Lollipop, the Kingroot app no longer works. As we know, Kingroot is the only method that works with this phone, even though the root is temporary and it will disappear after a reboot, but we can still get it again effortlessly.
If the root access is not something that is important to you, just use the Verizon upgrade assistant or Samsung KIES to download the official Android 5.0.1 update Lollipop and install the update to the phone. You can also download the stock Lollipop firmware which flashable thru Odin flash tool.
