When first introduced in September 2012, the Motorola RAZR HD or also known as DROID RAZR HD for Verizon Wireless, comes with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich. But as time passes, these smartphones have been getting several software updates, including a minor update that just brings bug fixes or a major update that provides OS upgrade. Beginning with the Android 4.1.1 update to the 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, DROID RAZR HD/MAXX HD gets an OTA update five times, so now we have 6 stock firmware file available with a different software version.
Most people use the DROID RAZR HD / MAXX HD stock firmware file is to back to stock, so they can get an official OTA update, for warranty purpose, or even use it as a first attempt to restore theirs soft brick device. The firmware update for the Motorola RAZR HD is generally applied with RSD Lite or any custom tool to help flash the firmware into our smartphones.

UPDATE!! Previously, we could get a stock firmware download links from “http://sbf.droid-developers.org“, almost all Motorola stock firmware links was available there. But now it seems that the site owner has removed all links firmware on their servers, we do not know the exact reason. But we will continue to look for alternative and working download links, you may be required to register to be able to see the links.
The firmware file is compressed in zip format, we can directly use it with RSDLite, but sometimes we still need to carry out a few changes to the XML file before using it, because a lot of folks has failed, when flash the zip file directly.
