Xposed Framework for devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop finally released by rovo89 aka Robert Vollmer, a senior recognized developer from Xda. As we know, the previous build of Xposed is not compatible with Lollipop, since it does not yet support ART Runtime, SDK version 21 or armeabi-v7a on Android 5.0. The new Xposed can be realized because of the hard work of rovo89 and team and also valuable feedback from its users.
The last build of Xposed which for Android 4.0.3 or later is version 2.7 (Experimental release), and now it’s updated to version 3.0, which is still Alpha release, it could turn into a stable release as time passes. This build of Xposed only for Lollipop on ARMv7+ device, so do not even think to install on KitKat or previous versions of Android, because the framework won’t be installed.
Previously, in order to install Xposed we just need to download the apk file, then install the framework from there, but since version 3.0 the framework can only be installed via custom recovery, yes we have to flash it. This is a major drawback because not all Android devices these days have a custom recovery, especially if the device comes with locked bootloader. We can only hope that this requirement can be eliminated in the future.
