AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 (SGH-i747) has received an official update via KIES Jelly Bean last week, offering additional features and improvement. Although not all users experience the promised improvement, there are some users who have problems after the updating to official JB (Android 4.1), for example device freezing and reboots. This problem takes place a few times in a single day, to this day no one knows what causes this device hanging and then rebooting, since this issue can arise when browsing, make/receive calls, texting, playing games, etc.
This problem doesn’t happen to all AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 (SGH-i747) users, there are many people who feel pleased with the Jelly Bean update, their devices become faster and smoother than ever. In case you don’t know, this official update brings new features such as: home screen, blocking mode, Swype and music hub.
Here is a solution based on the user experience when you experience random reboots on Galaxy S III after JB update. Please note, the results may vary on each device:
- Disable Downloads in Settings > Application Manager > All.
- If you have previously enabled face unlock feature, you should disable this feature.
- This can be the last solution before bringing your device to a local store, by Factory reset your phone, so your phone will back to factory default settings. Look at Settings > Backup and reset > Factory Data reset. However, all the data stored on the internal storage will wiped, so do not forget to backup. This can be the best solution as a factory reset will erase all the settings you made on ICS (Android 4.0), so it does not conflict with the Jelly Bean firmware.
- The last solution that you can do in case you are still within the 14 day return is replace your Galaxy S3 with a new one, just visit the local AT&T store.
