Besides it comes with a full metal body, there are significant differences that can be found on HTC One, if you pay attention to several other HTC devices, almost all have four or three capacitive buttons, but the One only has two, back and home button only, while the middle is only a htc logo that does not have any function. Well, since the One running the Android OS, so we can turn the htc logo into a capacitive button (logo2menu), and make it work as a menu button, that’s awesome.
Thanks to developers from xda who build a kernel so it can happen. Not just that, it also included with “sweep 2 wake” feature on our HTC One. So you do not need to press the power button to turn on or turn off the display, simply swipe your finger from the back button to home button (left to right) to wake the phone, and right to left to make it sleep.
In addition to Logo2menu and sweep2wake, the kernel also has many features such as: disable system R/W protection, USB fast charge, overclocked CPU and much more. Follow the easy guide listed below to take advantage of all the features that we talked about.
- A device with unlocked bootloader and a custom recovery (CWM/TWRP) is required.
- Grab the kernel for Sprint (m7_wl) and International/AT&T/T-Mobile (m7_u/m7_ul) devices. There are two versions available, overclocking-enable (up to 1.9 GHz frequency) and stock frequency (1.7 GHz). Then copy the zip into the device’s storage.
- Boot into custom recovery, then flash zip from SD card.
- Reboot and Profit.
