The hottest Motorola’s flagship phone – Moto X will be available soon, and will be offered in the U.S. on contract through 5 carriers. The phone is perfect for those of you who want to upgrade from the DROID RAZR HD or RAZR M, priced $199 on contract for the 16GB version and $250 on contract for the 32GB version. Although not available yet, but you’re allowed to try out some of Moto X features such as the new minimalist camera app.
The stock Moto X camera app has several features including Panorama mode, HDR mode, slow motion, double-flick gesture to run the app, burst mode, swipe to open the gallery and settings, touch to focus, Geo-tag toggle, etc. Since specifically designed for Moto X, you may find that some features may not work properly on DROID RAZR HD, RAZR M or any other devices. However, since it has a brand new minimalist yet powerful UI, then this camera app worth trying out.
When tested on the DROID RAZR HD (XT926) almost all camera features are run great except slowmow, some say HDR could work nicely, but more are saying that this feature doesn’t work, although HDR can work, it might not very useful for you due to the different hardware with Moto X.
You can get the apk file here on xda, although it does not require any special requirements such as root privileges, but you should know that many users fail to install the app and getting an error message “Signature error”. This most likely occurs when your device running oldest version of Jelly Bean (4.1), since most RAZR HD or RAZR M with stock firmware are unable to set up this app, only users with a custom ROM (AOSP or CM) who can handle the installation. Maybe the app requires Android 4.2 or latest version, since the camera app builds for Android 4.2.2 device.
